Serenity

You scored as Kaylee Frye. The Mechanic. You are a natural mechanic, and you are far too sweet and cheerful to live out here. How you can see the good in everyone around you boggles the mind occationally. Still you don’t seem to be any crazier than that, and it is a nice kinda crazy.

Can I do it this year?

September 28, 2005

That seems like a loaded question.

Nanowrimo is creeping upon us. I might actually write on a different book this year. I probably use “First Draft in 30 Days”.

I never recieved a rejection back for the Vampire story. I saw another problem with it any way so it needs a rewrite, then I’ll look for another market. Dark Recesses is already in print but the didn’t bother to contact. They’ve been marked in the Sonar software I use.

I am keeping track, I am writing.

This is good.

Fun things, I’ve been talking to that new guy. Apparently he’s never heard a girl talk about things like the Yellowstone Caldera, or Gun control (as opposed to legislation/restriction) by enforcing the laws we already have. He was really taken aback and apparently pleasantly suprised. He must not hang out with enough geeks. ๐Ÿ™‚

They finally have film footage of those giant squid That’s just so cool.

It is Banned Book week. Go read one ๐Ÿ™‚

Shit We Always Get

September 26, 2005

Besides the general splitting sinus headache, I’m doing pretty good.

I have been talking to this guy on IM, then this weekend we started calling each other. 10 hours of phone conversation later (thank god for free weekends and nights) we have a date for next Saturday. This is a good thing but I’m kind of nervous.

It has been a long weekend. I’ve pounded out the basics of a wrapping for Silver Dragon. Now I get to start making it happen. I think I might have scared her a bit though. When she mentioned she needed a new digital camera. I still had my old one, so I thought, no biggie, I’ll give her this one. She made a real big deal out of it though. I felt a little embarrassed about it.

Last Friday was our Holiday meeting at work. We met Tony Sinclair (see the previous post, from the Tanqueray ads). I got me some swag: A crown royal bag with my name on it and a nifty wooden spoon from our newest project, a dulce de leche cream liqueur.

It was num. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you Tanqueray?

September 22, 2005

The emotional roller coaster of this week had kept me on an adrenaline rush that will send me crashing to ground.

Rita is coming in. Cat 5, moving north last I check. I cannot bring myself to read too many more Katrina stories, good or bad. I just burst into tears. The effect this will have on the country is only really beginning to brew.

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

The Iraqi constitution looks promising in some ways. However, in other, more frightening ways, it leaves it open for a dictatorship of Ayatollah proportions.

Well that would be on par for American’s track record for setting up foreign governments. What, one democratic success (kind of) out of 8 tries I can think of off hand? The biggest right-wing argument for the war now is, well at least they are free. How does that hold water if they loose the rights they had under a government we set up for them?

Work deadlines are pilling up. I’m taking my lunch now, though I havenโ€™t for the last few days. I need a break. Do I look like Jesus to you? Not last I checked. For my trouble, they gave me a bottle of Tanqueray. (It was a throw away bottle, I work for a liquor distributor) The stuff is nasty and smells like Pinesol. On the bright side, it makes the house smell piney in a diffuser.

Breathing is a good thing.

Gah..I can’t think too much more right now. I’ve got to get back to work.

Notes: Iโ€™ve been working on other sites: http://applebranch.com has new products. Look at http://marketingmatterscorp.com for mailing stuff. And http://thesilverdragonscavern.com nifty embroidered dice bags (this is my current design in progress. Iโ€™m working on it right now but my design stuff isn’t up yet ๐Ÿ™‚

Desperate Gambles, Novels, and Sometimes They Remember

September 16, 2005

Itโ€™s been a tough week. Many thoughtless demands at work. I barely make enough to cover my bills; with child support I get my extra money for preschool, food and anything else. Iโ€™m feeling very overwhelmed.

So I decided to refinance. This week it all seemed to go wrong. I couldn’t pull out because they would cash a good faith check that would deplete all my preschool money. This would screw me big time. At the numbers did not look good, which would redirect my funds to mortgage, leaving none for preschool.

Now it looks okay. I close tonight. This will take care of one of my loans, give me extra money to put in the bank and give me a more secure loan than I had.

It will let me keep Aia in school; she needs to be there.

Today I realized I had more than one novel in me.

In fact, several of my ideas are being revamped to go in my word, the same as Ronyn, under a “Women of Fate” category. These are not all happy stories. However, they all fit.

Woot!
__________

One of the game invitations I got at the con came through. Yeah! In some ways miraculous, because the gm made the offer while a bit drunk. I gave my contact info when sober so it all worked out. So, in a couple weeks I have a weekly night game to attend. More fun.
