AWOL

It’s Tacticon weekend. So I’ll be unavailable most of the weekend. Monday I’m removing wallpaper, so if you like to watch paint un-dry I could use the emotional support.

History was made in Denver last night. We have an official AA candidate. Go us. There will be many more now…we are country that runs on precedent.

Random Dragons

Congress has tried to repeal the 4th Amendment with the telcomm immunity and wiretapping bill. I hope this goes right to the supreme court. The jerks. YOU DON’T HAVE RIGHT.

NPR has being doing a survey of various Universal Healthcare systems around the world for the last few months. They all have the same thing in common: drug companies, doctors and hospitals all get paid less and have their prices controlled. Considering this country has a lack of doctors willing to be paid less than $400,000 that seems one of the biggest blocks to cheap healthcare. I think about this alot. I’ve had two kidney stone attacks this week…and my hair is falling out. It’s nuts.

And finally I’m working on a new dragon logo. So last night I fired up poser and started hacking together a dragon from various models. Then I trashed the whole thing and fired up painter. This is what I have so far:

Painter has suddenly become more intuitive for me. It’s as if this finally makes sense.

My Thoughts on “Baby Mama”

It’s unforgivable what fox news said about Michelle Obama. Calling anyone a baby mama is horrible. It is not only a slut connotation but also renders her an incapable person in same phrase. Considering her background alone is enough to render it stupid. It’s just as bad as eye candy in that vein. Why you may ask? Eye candy implies stupidity.

Most First Lady’s despite their foilables do good. These woman are brave enough to stand by their husbands while this **** is flung. They deserve more. I may not particularly like Mrs. Obama but I have no doubt that she would devote her time and expertise to good works as a First Lady.

The Fox News headline actually inferred that liberals were calling her baby mama. FN is insidious in that. If you haven’t read Michelle Malkin’s post about it…don’t it’ll just make you froth at the mouth more. Idiots come in hand baskets.

Remember I’m a girl that doesn’t think being called Sweetie is bad.

Peon to the Would-Be-King: My visit to a McCain meeting.

We got the opportunity to go to the McCain town hall today in Denver. It was fun, informative and just a little crazy.

As my boss put it: It was fun to watch the folks that had drunk the kool-aid.

The place was packed with various Republican candidates and fans. Some notables: Bob Lane; Lady in the blue coat trying to turn folks away because she was scared of the line; two bald secret service guys who could be twins; Bob Schaffer who shook my hand but of course he shook everyone’s hand; a George Lily not the George Lily; Jake Jabs sans tiger; some local congress lady who had a name similar to a Jamaican fruit and McCain even.

Nothing new was really said. McCain does not want to be in Iraq for 100 years but would like to setup the same deal we have with Korea. He’s all about free speech and publicly stated that he wants to hear dissenting opinions and he did. He never answered ANY how questions.

At the end he walked a bit and shook hands. He was surprisingly humble but had no real hope to offer. He said good things (he did NOT blame the bridge on earmarks Huffington Post…weren’t you paying attention?) but some of it just seemed wish thinking…such as GAP insurance for those that can’t get insurance either because of money or condition.

I do show up in one Daily Camera photo though:

I’ll be safe in the Graphics Cave come Friday

We were informed this morning that John McCain will becoming to our workplace on Friday.

I probably won’t see him. In fact, as with most things, I’ll probably be here before he comes, and leave way after he does.

What funny is that so far, most folks are just grimacing at the inconvenience it’s going to cause. We have other events that day…which are not political in nature…which will be over shadowed by this stunt.

At least he’s not coming during I60. That’s going to be enough of a circus.

UPDATE: All the news sources are posting conflicting views on tickets and whether this event is open to the public. Several places are just saying show up by 8 am.

Did I say Circus…I meant crazy fiasco.

A Caucausing We Went

Just so.

It was weird…and quick…and because we are Coloradans, ultimately futile. I don’t like Romney but he won Colorado and promptly dropped out. He’s firmly in the Asshat place now. The political landscape looks like this now:

McCain (scary megalomaniac 1)
Huckabee (crazy scary megalomaniac 2)
Ron Paul (He looks good right about now…he has a down side but the downs are not his priority…the constitution is.)

Clinton (Crazy Woman with power issues…who has already been president)
Barrack (willing to forgive anyone…no matter how evil they are…can you say wet tissue?)

So here I am caught between the choosing the lesser of two evils. I don’t CARE what they look like…I was behind Obama until he started inviting avoid bigots to his campaign. I don’t care what Hillary has down her pants…she was scary when Bill was in office. I don’t want her to have official power. McCain and Huckabee are crazy whack jobs. Paul is kind of a whack job…but he’s for gun toting hippees. I’m a gun toting hippee.

Speaking of which I finally got to shoot my Buck Mark last week. It was nice. I hope to get to practice with it more.

My new job is awesome but my activities have less time now. Ie: I’m on a real person’s schedule.

Aw well. I’m getting my stuff done.

Really.

Remembering

So it’s veterans day and the day we remember those that fell.

I think it is also a time to remember to be vigilante.

A Christian group is using Fox News to go after Asatru. It’s disturbing the amount of misinformation. The two woman were honest and thoughtful…but the Nazi angle is untrue.

Apparently creationists are trying to get around laws against teaching religion in schools by using cdesign proponentsists instead of Creationist. They got caught.

The house passed the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, lets hope the Senate comes to their senses and doesn’t let it pass. It’s scary. Take this passage for example:

`(2) VIOLENT RADICALIZATION- The term `violent radicalization’ means the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.

Who decides that? The bill puts together a committee to analyze these things then decide what to do about. It could make anyone who disagrees with the government a criminal. All the reps from Colorado voted for it. Write to them and write to the senators.

And finally in news of the stupid: Taking photographs in the US is getting iffy:

War on Photography

Digital Cameras caught on because parents didn’t want to be thrown in jail for taking photos of their kids. You laugh? It was a real concern in the late 90′s. Folks barely could use a computer buy them.

Sigh.

Permission to Reincarnate Sir! or Insanity seems to follow me around in large quantities.

はじめまして!

I got my car back! Yeah! It’s all shiney again…and will be more so once I get the windshield replaced. D’oh! The insurance companies are still trying to sort through the mess. I don’t know when I’ll hear anything.

Last night a man came to our door and told me to do something about our dogs..that they bark at all hours. I told him he was mistaken…it’s not our dogs…they are not left out when we are not home or when we are sleeping. He then threatened me by saying that if we didn’t do something he would and that he does this all the time. I told him that he can’t threaten us. This happened on 8-7-2007. Considering every house on that side as at least 1 dog but most have more and the family with 4 dogs leaves them out all night and they all bark…I think he’s picking on us because we are the only house that has a fence you can see though. Yes the dog was barking when he showed up…Dagny is trained to bark when a stranger comes to the door. Whinnie just gives in to peer pressure.

China now requires that a person ask permission to reincarnate. The is mainly directed at the Dali Lama…but damn…since when did they go back to Emperor as God? That’s so 1910.

As far as Senators and Reps go for Colorado…I want them all fired except for Udall and DeGette. They at least had the balls to vote against FISA. We need to to get Allard and Salazar out of the Senate. The fools.

Speaking of fools there is this wonderful take of a white man so afraid of black men that he offered the first random one he found $20 and a blow job to leave him alone. Too bad the black man was an undercover cop and the white man was Florida state Legislator Bob Allen. I think we can all agree that Bob Allen is officially insane.

A few things…in which I stop talking about myself…

I’m sure people are tired hearing about my stress. Still I saw the new floor last night in J.’s house…it’s very pretty.

We’ve just about filled the storage area. The house looks more empty…my garage more full.

Creation museum…

There’s a brand new science fiction museum run by idiots who think is all true. If you do decide to visit be sure to ignore the religious nut-jobs who are telling you this really happened…cause it’s all stupid but makes for a nice tribute to those early movies about curvaceous cave girl models a la Raquel Welch. You might need to read a book on Darwin to cleanse your mind after going.

Cheney’s own office
In case you thought you never had anything to fear from Cheney, you poor, poor fools…just remember he’s his own branch of office now. Silly Americans…of course we have four branches of government…the Judicial, the Executive, and the Legislative. New in 2007 we bring you the Cheney-really-runs-the-white-house puppet master branch.

Okay I’ll be nice…he says he’s not under executive orders because he’s part of the legislative branch as President of the Senate. I wonder what he’ll be when the Demo’s start to tell him they own his ass. We should make constitution, bill of rights and the declaration mandatory memorization for public office. If you can’t memorize it you can’t run.

Considering we’ve been joking for years that Cheney hides in the bushes to tell Bush what to say…this isn’t funny:

Hindu prayer in U.S. Senate draws religious protesters

What assholes….they should be made to publicly apologize. That was rude and stupid. Just…stupid.

But in case you thought that Pagans were safe:

Think about Rita Moran. This insane Christian Group is trying to destroy her based on the fact she’s a pagan.

Where do these people get off? Denver is a mostly tolerant place. Oh we have intolerance but not on the scale of some of these other places. Focus on the Family is in Colorado Springs and right now they are too busy the rest of the nation to worry about Colorado…besides they have their own silly problems.

This world is too fucked up.
