Scavenger Hunt by Christopher Pike

Scavenger hunt Scavenger huntChristopher Pike; Pocket Books 1989WorldCatRead OnlineLibraryThingGoogle BooksBookFinder In my slightly insane quest to read books alphabetical by author…mostly…I reached Christopher Pike about two months ago.

Along with Lois Duncan, V.C. Andrews, and Dean Koontz, Pike was a childhood indulgence. You never knew what each book held but they were all different.

Scavenger Hunt begins with a choice. Carl can decided to go on the fabulous Express scavenger hunt with sexy Cessy and her brother Davey or with his almost sweetheart, Tracie and Paula, the sister of his dead best friend, Joe.

He chooses Cessy.

What follows are a string of crazy incidents that slowly reveal that Joe isn’t all that dead and that Carl and his friends soon will be.

And it’s all one strange trip after that, with walking skeletons, lizards and rituals.

Interesting but weird. I still kind of like the book. Carl’s kind of a dead beat but I really liked Tracie, Paula and her poor little brother Rick.
