Going to Vegas

J: Once we hit town, since check in isn’t until 4, we can hit Costco for the stuff we’ll need that week. If I understand that map, at least of them is fairly close to the condo.

Me: Your Costco worship is crazy mad. But sure. :)

J: Blasphemer.

Me: Good thing Costco hasn’t got the Ikea route yet. I can image you’d jump on the chance for a Costco apartment or hotel room.

J: You will burn in Big Lots for that.

Me: Why are you going to burn down Big Lots? You like Big Lots.

J: I couldn’t think of a better alternative store for hell. Work with me here.

Where Was I?

So later that night we had dinner at Asia, a upper tier restaurant in Bally’s. Good stuff…really good actually.

That was Saturday…Sunday was the Atomic Testing Museum. We came away with more spendage. I even got a little crystal mushroom cloud for my key chain. Did I mention I’m pro-nuke? That’s a whole nother post. We walked there (about a mile) to work off the breakfast at the Sterling Buffet (the champagne buffet) at Bally’s. We pretty much spent the rest of the night in the room.

I did hit Sephora to get some more Bare Minerals. Love the stuff. They do have stores in Denver…yeah!

Monday included a trip to the gun range. J. shot the tommy gun this year….I stuck with my Buck Mark. The grouping is getting better. We did the Rio’s seafood buffet for dinner. NOT worth the price…you can get the same thing plus more at any of the other buffets for a lot cheaper. That includes the Rio’s World Buffet and Paris.

Tuesday was Ka and our dinner at Joel Robuchon. Joel Robucohon was crazy expensive and strange. Did you know that sea urchin tastes like cheese? It does. And herb sorbet, white chocolate and pears only taste good if you eat them all at the same time. They gave us pound cake to take home. I got a picture of the black lacquer, pink and purple decor with the ivy garden wall too. I know we said no more extravagance after the Paris Eiffel Tower dinner last year. J. chose this place. I loved it…J. was pissed they changed the menu daily. If we stay with buffets next year, I’ll be totally fine though.

Ka is officially my favorite Cirque du Soleil. It’s told as a continuous story. It plays out on vertical stages like an anime ballet. I loved it. Bought the cd…might get it on DVD later. It even had indoor fireworks.

Wednesday we drove back with minimal stops. I have pictures to get off the cards, my computer is almost totally ready for use. I even got a painting done and some writing. Really though I mostly read Death Note and played FF3 during the down time.

Vegas

I’m sitting in Blondies, a sports bar in Planet Hollowood Las Vegas. J managed to get them to put on the Penguins v Devils game. So it’s drinks till dinner.

We drove to Green River last night. The Ramada we stated in was smokey in hall but the room was nice. The idiots in the next room watched tv all night as loud as the could. We stopped at the black dragon in Utah to take pictures.

We drove through rain and snow today. It’s actually 60 degrees in Vegas. Our room in Bally’s is nice. J is sitting here comparing his drink to the ass sweat of a samurai.

I know you didn’t need to know that but I had to share the pain.

My New Computer is Here!

And it’s shiny.

I’ve got nearly everything installed on it. I have re-download poser and Spore is giving me grief…but so far its running not only well but extremely well.

Vista is different. I have 3 gigs of ram in this one…so I’m pretty okay with that. I will upgrade to 4 gigs eventually.

I left it downloading ipod updates and ripping my new glam rock cd. I will be in Vegas for rest of the week…so communication will be low.

Living in Perpetual Twilight: Joing the Ranks of the Jobless

Well, alot has happened in a week and a half.

Vegas was awesome! From food, to entertainment to guns. The ride was a bit weird. I came to the conclusion that Utah just doesn’t want you there. We had a short jump through Arizona. The ride was beautiful. I always pictured Utah as full of barren grey rock for some reason. Really it’s full of all kinds of painted rock formations and strange landscape. Virgin Canyon in Arizona was majestic.

The Paris was my favorite casino. The outdoors inside was beatiful. The food was the best for the price. (check out that night buffet, num). Also the cigar bar, Napolean’s. Good drinks and a free dueling piano show. Those guys will play anything…even if they don’t know it.

We saw Love at the Mirage. If you like pretty, or the Beatles…take a look…they did some really cool things with that song.

We shot guns. (of course). And we got a tour of Nellis Airforce base. Awesome stuff. It gave us a good idea how underfunded our troops are.

Inside the Bellagio they had a garden and some huge pumpkins.

And the Venitian…which was just cool.

So then we came back. Caught up on HerosThe most awesome show on television right now. nbc and scifi are showing it.

And I got fired.

I’m relieved and scared. Glad to be gone and worried about money.

Sigh. Anyone hiring?
