A Day in the…

So now back to writing.

Really, the DGA stuff has been fun…but if I don’t take a break for a couple days I’ll start doing scary things to the website. I know the 21st century is hard on people’s brains. BUT you have no excuse…my 80 year old grandmother can handle it, so can you.

So yea…back to nano.

Anyway…I’m teaching a tarot class on Monday. Anyone want to come and be part of of a human Celtic Cross?

Monday November 24th is Pagan Community Night at For Heaven’s Sake;
6:30 to 8:00pm: Join Michelle Norton who presents Learning the Tarot:
Building up a Spread.

Are you new to Tarot or would you just like some practice
laying out the cards? This presentation will take you through laying
out a variation on the Celtic Cross, what to look for in the entire
spread, how to connect the cards and receive clarification. Bring
your own tarot deck and one to share if possible.

For Heaven’s Sake is located at 4383 Tennyson St in North Denver. The
store closes at 8:00 pm so please arrive early should you wish to
browse. A $5 donation is appreciated but not required.

Ah yes, Batman, Guild Wars and Working

So I almost have all the Tacticon updates up. If you’re gunning to register for Tacticon you can now. You’ll just have to download the booklet at the moment.

I’m planning to have more updates up today. Percoset messes with me. I worked on the website for several hours yesterday then ended up taking a percoset because the tubes started to bother me big time. I gave up about an hour after that as my head got extremely fuzzy and I couldn’t connect the code together. It’s a bad day when you can’t figure out where the img tag goes in href tagIt doesn’t…that’s how bad it was.. So I have a lot of the game listing pages done…but I’ve screwed up the code badly. I’ll work on them today.

So because I did some shopping for groceries, Worldcon and scrapbooking early that morning, I picked up a copy of Guild Wars to try. I’m missing FFXI terribly…I can’t justify the time or the money. Guild Wars doesn’t have a monthly fee, the graphics are very much like Final Fantasy, and it’s a fantasy online game. Score.

It took most of the afternoon to install 2 disks and allow it to download updates. I either worked on the webpage where I could, ie: little updates, researching ticket code to use on the eventual fully automated shopping cart site for the DGA, or playing Aurora Feint on my iTouch until it made me dizzy.

I haven’t touched the Wii in a while due to this whole mess. I’m still not supposed to exercise but I have to move some things. I’m trying hard not go more than 10lbs at once. So far so good.

So Guild Wars installed. The first thing you get to do is choose whether to be a PvP munchkin or an RPG player. That’s totally cool that they separate those out. The generation part was nice and very customizable. Not as much as CoH but more than FFXI. The graphics are beautiful in the pastel style of FF but with a more solarized look. I’m in heaven. I got to level five and had fun. The catchphrase of the game is: A game that takes skill in stead of time. So far I believe it.

Dying so far hasn’t had any penalties…you revive in the various shrines. You can’t explore buildings like FFXI which is too bad but the landscape is pretty awesome. Some of it’s very open like FFXI some of it is very path oriented. You have to pick up items that monsters drop, you don’t have to pick up your stuff when you die. You can color you clothes with various dye and get new ones. The various characters I saw in game where as varied as CoH. There are a lot of drops, and gold. Though some merchants take trade instead of gold. The games tracks your missions and orients the map to the mission. Once you’ve been to a place you can open a travel map and go instantly to various places instead of walking there.

Overall…very cool.

I saw Batman, disturbing beautiful and insane. Very dark, very worth the money. This is the batman I grew up reading. The one I grew up watching was very different. I like this one better.

Web Designer and Video Editor

That’s right…now I’m editing videos. I’ll have to update the web portfolio soon. I even designed a logo.

I’ve officially quite FFXI. Let’s face it, I don’t have the time, so why spend the money?

Cat may be gone (extra super sniff) but she may be reincarnated soon. I’ll keep any one who’s reading this posted.

I have photos to go through. I’ve finished Aia’s site…still have work on pulp. 78 Images is looking much better but it’s far from done(Edit: it is done..in all it’s glowy goodness). What else…? Writing…well I’m working on that.

Editing videos for youtube is easy:

You need (win)

1. A dvd ripper
2. A file converter (to convert them into avi, mov, dv, or mp4 dending on your editor)
3. Windows Movie Editor (found in your program files directory)

You need (mac)

1. A dvd ripper
2. A file converter
3. IMovie

So very simple :) Course you might need music and photoshop, gimp or paint shop pro…you might want an extra drive to keep those files on.

Can you tell I’m having fun :) .

Not what you would call a happy camper.

I have some extra time during work right now so I’ve been working on website stuff.

78 Images has been sadly neglected lately…mostly because while I have things to post…I haven’t had time to get things all transcribed correctly. I want to change the look as well…

So I go there today and it’s been suspended. Looks like the wordpress plugin BDP Rss Aggregator is going nutzo…so the hosting company shut it down. I use it on this site as well…so no more rss feeds posted on the each site. This is nuts. I wasn’t notified of a problem. There was no way to know of it unless I went through all the raw logs….which is what I just did.

Sigh.

I’m in a holding pattern on HOD…waiting for the new leader to lead me into what he wants. Same for the DGA…I can’t do much until they make some decisions.

I have three new projects:

Rebecca’s Swim blog…it’s just a fledging blog right now…no design yet….she’s still deciding what she wants.

Aia will have a webpage soon. Won’t be public though.

Then there’s Serial Pulp…the webpage design is set…we just need content and images. I’m working on the title image…content needs to come from J.

On top of this is the novel and Worldcon….which I’m working on as well.

Whee!
