Taminy is the second book the Meri trilogy by Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff. It picks up where the last left all with changed and new Osred. We follow the newly formed Taminy as she tries to bring the Meri’s lesson to the land.
The book, like its predecessor, is a rich tapestry of writing. It bothered me that none of Taminy’s users and abusers though she ever had a thought in her head or an opinion of her own. I love the characters of Aine and Isebal who struggle with their own self definitions even as the world changes around them. Near the end I felt as their story was not fully told. We learn much more of the religion of the Meri in the book as well as the inner workings of the court. Bohnhoff gives a fuller view of her world and an exciting story in which to follow it.
