Voyage of the Jerl Shannara: Isle Witch by Terry Brooks

I’m a long time fan of Terry Brooks. I picked up Isle Witch because I wanted something good to read. I wasn’t disappointed.

Many years after the events of Talisman’s of Shannara , Walker Boh works to create a druid council and finally fulfill the Ohmsford promise to the druids. He sees his opportunity when the last survivor of a failed thirty year mission returns. Walker makes a deal with the elves and gathers a force to find an ancient treasure. Bek Rowe, an orphan is chosen by Walker to come along with his cousin, Quentin Leah are chosen to go on the voyage. They set of with a band of Rovers, a bunch of politically misfit elves and the Isle Witch, perhaps Walker’s greatest failure, on their tail.

I loved the book. Though once again, many of the characters I’ve loved are long dead, this story quickly draws me in with it’s fast pace, history and character development.
