5 x 5

Woot!  Chapter 5 is off the presses.  Okay, it’s in the word processor, but still, I can now claim I’m on chapter 6.

Maaj-Brit has rounded out nicely as a bubbly girl.  She’ll be at the battle-front-brought-home while the others are out causing trouble and catastrophe.

I need to change the names for Ronyn and Lukaus.  Niether fit anymore.  Well, Ronyn does but it’s a little trite.  She’s actually gone through three name changes so far.  Ah, well.

I was reading The Writer’s Little Helper by James V. Smith Jr.  and he mentions something about writing the climax (re: ending) first so that you know where you’re going.  I did this with Without Honor before doing FDi30D.  However it didn’t help as much.  I had to rewrite it when I realized that story kept going.  Now the first climax is in the middle.  One of those ten important scenes Smith mentions.

Today I’m a bit under the weather.  My voice box isn’t working too well.  I called in but really I didn’t need too.  I feel fine otherwise.  I’m sure I have a sinus infection…I’m overdue this year.  It’s not serious enough for antibiotics yet, so it might go away.  The pressure is bad and the snot dripping down my throat has hurt my voice.  Still my teeth don’t hurt so bad that I can’t eat.  I’m not sure that made any sense.

Aw well, quizzy goodness:

You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer

Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you’re from.

And while you may have some problems being “normal,” you’ll have no problems writing sci-fi.

Whether it’s epic films, important novels, or vivid comics…

Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world!

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history–with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.Mitch Ratliffe
