So today in the mad-rush-to-get-poohbunny-into-school dash, I was stopped, along with a whole group of students and parents by a skinny aid with too much time on her hands.
“The rule that we always follow is that you go in through the lunch room and you need to start following it.”
I cried bullshit. And I was right. It was a new rule AND it doesn’t apply to kindergarteners. Of course I still had to walk to the other end of the school and back before she was straitened out. I gave her some unkind remarks about their newsletters
I’m already at odds with this school as they can’t seem to find the supplies we had to provide for the entire class this year. And I drop my daughter off between 7:30 and 8 which they don’t like. It’s not that they don’t assign teachers to watch these children in that time frame; it’s because “at my daughter’s age she should not be left in the care of others for so long”. Apparently single mothers who have to be at work by 8 are an exception but they never seem to have their rules straight until you go to them to challenge the rules.
I still made it with only five minutes lateness but missed out on morning tea. I can deal. But it won’t end there.
I got her “application” for next year. The race question had white under other with a note to please specify. So I put Scottish-Canadian: Clan Armstrong. That should confuse them. If that doesn’t, the answer to the “How many books are at the home where the child lives?” will. They won’t be expecting 9,999. Of course it’s not accurate…I ran out of boxes.
Things to do:
Call Tenaker
Bills
Dishes
Laundry
Pack
I’m sure I’m missing something.
