Tri-Loom Weaving

So back on this weaving thing. I’m going to try to make a shawl. With a 12″ loom that looks kind of daunting.

I’ll need 49 triangles…I have no idea how to join them or if have enough yarn. I don’t really know how to finish off a triangle so it won’t unravel. Yeah Internets!

I guess I’ll find out. But either way I’ll try. It takes me about a half hour to make a triangle. It took me awhile. The nails on my loom are too far apart for worsted yarn. I’ve gone to semi-bulk and weave much more pleasing.

And yes, I made a damn center-pull ball.

All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you’re not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you’re the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no’s become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly.

And you will tell them yes.Nike Ad

There is a very active tri loom group on Yahoo, it has been around for 11 yrs and has over 2400 members. Only triloom questions permitted, and no sales information allowed. There is a sister site where sales are permitted.

      Hi Mary!

I’m a lurker on the Tri-Loom list, and the forum on Ravelry. Right now I’m making the triangles and writing down questions, which I will ask when I’m a bit more comfortable invading the list.

      Thanks!
